Deepika Padukone On #MeToo Movement: ‘Why Are Cricketers Not Asked About It?’
It was last year that the #MeToo Movement paved its way towards India, especially in Bollywood after Tanushree Dutta opened up on her tragic experience involving Nana Patekar. Later, several Bollywood celebrities like Sajid Khan, Alok Nath, Luv Ranjan, Rajat Kapoor and Vikas Bahl among many others were accused of sexual misconduct. In fact, of late, the internet was buzzing with rumours of Deepika Padukone working with Luv Ranjan for a film; however, there hasn’t been any official confirmation so far.

Now, during her recent interaction at a talk show, the Bajirao Mastani actress was quizzed about the #MeToo movement that is happening India. To which Deepika had quite a blunt response, rather a complaint. The actress stated that reporters should ask some cricketers about the #MeToo movement because she doesn’t see it happening. In fact, Deepika Padukone feels that only actors face such questions and, according to her, #MeToo isn’t just happening in Bollywood. “So, sure, I don't think I'm in any kind of place to say if I would expose myself to a forum. You can ask me whatever question you want, but why subject it only to a film star?" concluded the actress.
